Most of the beer uses barley as the starch source, also barley husk is important at the lauter stage in order to do quicker run-off, and its rich enzyme play a role in mash stage. However sometimes the starch of barley is mixed with the other starch, such as corn or rice starch, which is sometimes used in conjunction with barley starch to reduce production costs. Other starches are used as well include millet, sorghum, and sweet potato. Some brewers use sorghum as a raw material to produce "glycoprotein-free beer" without using any barley malt, especially for consumers who do not want to drink beer containing "glycoprotein".
Full bodied, light bitterness; malty, caramel, raisin, dried fruit, and nutty in flavor
